Aging Gratefully movie: Saturday 4 PM (Downtown Berkeley)

Come see the West Coast premiere of "Aging Gratefully: The Power of Community" (click for preview trailer), a new documentary by Alan O'Hashi, a filmmaker and resident of Silver Sage senior cohousing in Boulder, CO.

Aging Gratefully: The Power of Community is about how 25 seniors decided to plan and develop the Silver Sage Village senior cohousing project in Boulder, Colorado. The filmmaker recounts his recovery from his death bed through rehabilitation and the importance of neighbors.

Six Silver Sage residents, architects Chuck Durrett and Katie McCamant - the patriarch and matriarch of cohousing - appear in the film, along with coho development pioneer Jim Leach and UNC gerontologist Anne Glass.

The screening is a part of the Old Happens Five Year anniversary: Doors open at 4pm - movie at 4:30pm - talk back with filmmaker 6pm, optional dinner, then one-man show.

Alan will join us for the showing and conversation to follow, with optional dinner afterwards and then a viewing of the one-man show, "Old Happens".

Alan's film includes interviews on aging in community with six of his cohousing neighbors.
