- 2-3pm Teamaking Workshop: put our hands and hearts to the task of creating custom herbal tea blends for each to take home. Hosts Delia Carroll and Thomas J Linehan will lead and share exciting plans for the future of the teahouse.

ABOUT THE PLACEMAKERS' TEAHOUSE: There is a subtle yet palpable magic to the places where we find each other, the places that can hold us in each other's light. In the PlaceMakers Teahouse we provide a communal container; for restoring connection with plant medicine and facilitating an evolving discussion of what healthy community feels like. We bring and blend our own herbs, and with each lovingly poured cup we invite individuals to flourish through the strong connection born of sharing. From soil to sip, we are an artist’s activation hub, a community discussion home, and an emerging network of care. We grow the plants, the plants grow us.
ABOUT THE EMERGENT LEARNING FLOCK (ELF):
A silent art auction will be ongoing throughout the day, with arts and crafts by the Emergent Learning Flock (ELF), a group of homeschool kids, parents, and teachers practicing Sociocracy to help us get creative about learning, plans and collaboration. Why a silent art auction? Explanation from Jote Mahern, ELF teacher:
“For the last year we have been trying to get a yome (outdoor classroom) up at the Gill Tract because the kids said “Our papers just blow away” (when we try to draw or write) and “We don’t want water to splash down on our heads at lunch”. In October I updated the kids that the UC administration is reviewing our proposal, and its time for us to figure out funding. They all wanted to “bring in their money and coins” and asked how much it would cost. I told them that it was going to cost $7000. They said, “Whoa. We don’t have enough for that” We decided to brainstorm other ways to earn money, and came up with:
-Bring our own money and coins
-Sell stuff
-Get old books from the street or old books or books people don't want any more and sell them.
-Make paintings to sell. We could all make 4 paintings and then we would have 28 or 10 and have 70 or 9 or 6 or 5…..or…. (Number crunching that dissolved into giggles all around)
-Collect seeds from the farm and sell them
We are very excited to collaborate with the Tea House and raise some funds. The teahouse structure is very similar in design to the Yome we want to purchase. Come on out and see what the Children’s Garden would be like with a Buckminster Fuller inspired structure!
