Our Housing Crisis: Can We Build Our Way Out?

Oakland tree logo inside a head with lightbulbBuilding enough housing for everyone will take years or even decades... we simply can't afford to wait that long!

Join the Community Democracy Project for a community conversation about systemic barriers to no- and low-income housing, the implications of depending on new construction and market forces to achieve affordability, and what we can do to stop displacement and make housing affordable for everyone NOW!

CDP will bring together organizations and professionals working toward housing equity to discuss more immediate and environmentally susataibnle alternatives to large-scale market-rate development. We will explore how changes in housing policy lending practices, and putting the people in charge of the city budget could solve the housing crisis once and for all.

Venue is wheelchair accessible and located a short walk from Downtown Oakland 12th Street BART station. Food and refreshments will be served.
