Three grad students/professionals in a beautiful apartment are looking for a considerate, friendly, active graduate student or professional to rent starting September 1st. The 4-bed 2-bath apartment is spacious, open and bright, with bamboo flooring, tiled kitchen, gas range & oven, ceiling fans, A/C, large attic & pantry, and lots of windows overlooking the N Street community gardens. The apartment is the second floor of a highly energy- efficient house, including a solar hot water heater, excellent insulation and high-efficiency washer and drier. We are renting out a large carpeted bedroom (11.5’ x 11.5') with one large south-facing window and walk-in closet (5’x5'). Rent is $560/mo (includes utilities, internet and community dues). First and last month's rent and a $200 security deposit is required to move in. Lease ends Aug 31, 2011.
We operate as a coop, which means we have brief monthly house meetings and share staple foods. This includes a delicious CSA farm box which costs $40 each a quarter. We often share meals, have game nights, throw the occasional party and encourage our friends to stop by. We are hoping to find someone to join in this family-like atmosphere.
We live in a vibrant community called N Street Co-housing that consists of about 20 houses with joined backyards. This community has a diverse range of people from homeowners to renters, students, single moms, professionals, and families. It is great community where people take a little extra time to get to know each other, which includes sharing meals and conversations. N street Co-housing also has lots of garden space, chickens, an enormous bbq, a hot tub, trampoline, and a common house with a TV room, kitchen and a large dining room that sometimes doubles as a music venue. We are interested in someone who wants to be an active member in our household and in our co-housing community.
The space has been filled and contact info removed as of September, 2010.
