Rental Cohousing Open House

Come join EBCOHO members/experienced communitarians co-creating Quince Cohousing, a rental community with housemate/home openings in Oakland's Temescal district.

More about the Community:

We are Quince Cohousing, starting up in early 2016 in Temescal, Oakland, on 41st St. near Telegraph Ave. We are seeking the second half of our community, to start the first half of Feb.  Come meet the first half of us and see our construction progress!! Everything is framed in, even some flooring, and drywall and doors are coming next!

The community has seven rental units, ranging from one to three bedrooms, plus a community kitchen, common space, and garden. Units are rented at market rates. No buy-in is required, but there is an option for residents to invest in the LLC, which owns the property and is committed to supporting the cohousing community. Projected move in date is late January 2016

We have the following spaces still available:

• 1 bdrm in a 3bdrm/2ba upper apt, ~$1100, with 2 housemates

• 2bdrm/1 ba unit, French door entrance from deck, skylights, $2380

• 3bdrm/2.5 ba unit, wheelchair accessible, quiet, $3060.

Our new home has multiple garden spaces and common decks, and is 2 blocks from MacArthur BART station and Temescal shops and restaurants!

Quince cohousing envisions a community where we:

-- have positive connections with our neighbors - both within and surrounding the community,
-- have regular shared meals and other opportunities to gather socially,
-- support each other in our personal and shared endeavors,
-- agree to resolve conflicts peaceably with each other,
-- make decisions together effectively, efficiently, and democratically,
-- recognize that people will participate in and contribute to the community in diverse and changing ways,
-- share values around ecological living and social justice.

We seek:

A diverse range of community-minded folks, individuals, families, chosen-family, who like their own space as much as sharing meals, events, gardening, and a democratic and ecological- and social-justice-oriented way of living

We offer:

Both rental and ownership possibilities at a variety of income/savings levels.

The building is still under renovation so please bring appropriate footwear.
