Santa Cruz's first cohousing neighborhood, the long-established Coyote Crossing, has been remarkably stable with no resales and just one rental in its first decade. Folks working to create new community via the Santa Cruz Cohousing YahooGroup ended up splitting off in 2007ish with some co-creating New Brighton Cohousing in nearby Aptos while others continued to search. A fresh group has just (February, 2011) emerged, looking at co-investors for a downtown site, with a developer partner engaged and info sessions coming soon.
