This community is planning an affordable (by Bay Area standards) green development on a site within a block of light rail to Sacramento, yet far enough out of the city to get a taste of the hills.

The group leader, Marty Maskall, was the "burning soul" of Orangevale Cohousing (aka Sacramento Suburban Cohousing), holding a group together through a long process of environmental review and approvals that ultimately proved fruitless due to local opposition to any development at all.

The core group has persevered and is now in the design-and-planning-approval process on a site owned by a developer. It holds regular tours and socials, so get in touch to learn more.
